Koroneihana

Kia ora koutou

Further to our update about the cancellation of Koroneihana.  Please note the following updates:

· We can confirm that there will be an online presence of Koroneihana via the Kiingitanga social media networks.  This ensures we are able to honour and recognise this day as well as keep our people safe. The King’s annual address will be broadcast along with karakia and other footage to celebrate the day on Friday 21 August 2020.

  • The marae may raise their flag at your respective marae – please only do it if it is safe to do so. If possible, please record and send through to the Facebook page.

  • Watch our livestream of the day’s activities via Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and all other social media networks. The day will start at 6.45am and end at 1pm.

  • If you are posting about Koroneihana use our hash tag #AmoAke. This way we will be able to track all posts and turn that into pre-packaged VTs for future references.

  • Send your photo of loved ones that have passed away in the year gone to kawemate@kiingitanga.com. Please make sure to include their name and iwi affiliations. Please send your photos no later than 2pm on Thursday 20 August 2020.
