E Ngaa Whaanau o Taniwha Marae,
The Trustees are happy to announce that after 4 months of closure,
Taniwha Marae is back open and available for use. There are a few
additional health and safety measures in place to manage risks
associated with Covid-19 (primarily good hygiene practice, contact
tracing and encouraging those who are unwell or susceptible to ill
health to stay home). Again, thank you for your patience whanau.
Whanau using the marae will also need to appoint a coordinator to be
responsible for contact tracing and communicating and encouraging good
hygiene practices.
To book the marae contact Mario Patrick 021 027 04012 or Sam Toka 027 600 4227
As we all know a number of our whanau have passed while the marae has
been closed were not able to lay at the marae. A kawe mate will be
held at Taniwha Marae at 10am on Saturday 15th August for those who
passed before, during and since the lockdown. This date was chosen
because it is before koroneihana and provides whanau the opportunity
to come back to Taniwha before the kawe mate at Turangawaewae. More
information will be shared soon. But if you have any queries please
contact Uncle Sam.
